Defects don't disappear into chat anymore.
Photograph a fault, tap once, and you have a draft job card with title, description, suggested priority, and a pinpoint on the deck plan. Assign it. Track it. Sign it off. The whole vessel sees the same map.
The defect-to-job loop
- Crew member finds an issue, opens MYACHT, takes a photo.
- AI drafts a job card from the photo + a one-line description.
- Captain or HOD reviews, sets priority, assigns the responsible crew.
- Crew opens the job, ticks line items, attaches before/after photos, marks parts used.
- Inventory draws down automatically; engine hours update if the job touched a hours-tracked system.
- Sign-off, completion timestamp, full audit trail.
Pinpoint on the deck plan
Every job can carry a coordinate on a deck plan or general arrangement drawing — so a "leak in master cabin" is a literal red dot on the deck the next crew sees, not a description in WhatsApp. The pin survives sync, exports onto the audit PDF, and shows on the shoreside dashboard.
Departments and approvals
Multi-department: jobs can be filtered by Engineering, Deck, Interior, or Safety — and assigned to one or more departments at once. Approval workflows respect captain / HOD reporting lines. A bosun's job that needs the Chief Officer's sign-off goes to that exact role, not a generic "manager."
